One weekend we decided to make the early morning trek to Tsukiji Market for some fresh sushi. Of the competing restaurants, we ended up going to Daiwa Sushi and had a great meal. Surprisingly, the omakase was quite cheap (around 3500 yen). However, my appetite made it the most expensive breakfast I’ve had in my life.
We stood in line staring longingly at this sign for about 45 minutes at 6am
It was torture looking through the windows at the front of the line.
Fatty tuna (otoro).
Sea urchin (Uni).
Grilled shrimp head.
Fatty tuna (regular and medium).
Baby clams at the bottom of our miso soup.
Red snapper (tai) and hirame (flounder).
I believe this was marinated yellow tail (hamachi zuke).
Horse mackerel (aji) next to scallop (hotate).
Arc shell clam (akagai)
