Mimi decided to throw a big Halloween party for her coworkers at our place since many of them have never experienced this part of American culture. We had to leave a great impression I decided to let out a bit of my otaku side and make japanese culture themed custom costumes (cosplay) for the event. We didn’t hold back for the decorations either.

Me and the Mrs. We had a buncha fun thinking out the design and making these. A first time for us. Our costumes: Gundam Banshee for me and Domo for her.

Lizard is a bit hesitant about take out sushi…

Typical gunpla bust shot.

Mimi requested a brain. Its been so long since I’ve carved a jack-o’-lantern.

Thought her Neuroscientist coworkers would be amused by brains and a mouse (Stitch)

Making these tissue paper ghosts really brought back childhood memories.

and induced a smile

I think this is taking the Japanese recycling culture a bit too far…The ghost seems to be expressing the same concern.

Hot glue gun hard at work.

Gundam Unicorn Banshee almost ready for some costume party action. Final material upgraded to foam so I could play with slightly more complex curves. The cardboard mock-up was great for sizing tho.

I couldn’t resist some cheesy effects…
